And after much pressure from those closest to me, I felt enough is enough. So here it is. Most of you will know that I recently returned from India, an amazing trip - probably the best trip to India I've ever been on.

There's nothing really that can compare to India, the amazing sites and the thought of this is where our Satguroo's grew up, played and had jokes... as well as recited Bani and other Gurmat activities, is something that astounds me. The trip started at Darbaar Saahib, we flew straight to Amritsar Airport, which may I add, is rather quite nice in comparison to Delhi. We obviously headed straight for the main attraction - Harimandar Saahib and after having Darshan from outside went to our rooms. The Singhs had already been there for a week when we (my sister, Navroop Singh and me) arrived and dayum their room was nasstyyy! 5 Singhs sharing a room in the middle of summer with no AC and no windows! You make the calculations yourself, the stench of raw kachheray was enough to make me sick - luckily I held it in!

Sukhjinder Singh (BC), JGSK, Jasbir Singh, Roop Singh (My Dad), Sukhjinder's Dad, Satnam Singh

Nevertheless, night fell, we had langar and got another room. The Singhs then decided to do Ishnaan Seva and Parkarma Seva of Darbaar Saahib. I'd done Ishnaan Seva before, but i'd never really seen Parkarma Seva - a group of singhs and some bibian wash the whole of the Parkarma before Parkaash of Maahaaraaj is done. It aint an easy seva and is really strenuous, but this doesnt stop those Singhs who do it everyday, without fail!

The next morning, we didnt have time to worry about jet-lag, we was up and out. Heading straight for Mehtay. We got to Mehtay and to be honest, I wasnt really surprised with what I saw. The number of Singhs were few and far between and the atmosphere wasnt really the same, having said that, we got Darshan of Madhojee whom we had missed dearly and they were an inspiration, as ever. We left Mehtay and headed for Khiyala, the Dera for Akali Baba Tirlok Singh, Jathedar Tarna Dal Khiyala. They are another great Gursikh and nephew of Sant Baba Thakur Singh Jee. We sat with them did Bachan Bilaas etc and then bounced out.

The whole of the India trip was very much like this, bouncing from one spot to another meeting Nihang Singhs, Taksali Singhs, Akhand Keertani Singhs... it was all good fun. And being able to go to Hajoor Saahib was the icing on the cake! I didnt think it could get much better than that... then we returned to Amritsar. We had a week left and decided to rock it at Darbaar Saahib. We then got a surprise visit from one of the most humble and amazing Gursikhs that I've ever met. Mata Surjeet Kaur Jee, the mother of Shaheed Bhai Baljinder Singh Jee "Raju". The biography of Bhai Saahib will hopefully be up soon on www.neverforget84.com. Mata Jee's love for Guroo Raam Daas was amazing and they had so much Nimrata. The family were out of this world, the seva they did for us was unbelievable. Truly amazing Gursikhs.

So all in all, the trip to India was truly amazing. I've not even gone into detail with regards to all the events but maybe somethings are best kept Gupt. Neverthless I sure as hell can't wait to go back...

building cultural awareness for a better society...

For over 20 years the Sikh Educational Advisory Services have been travelling nationwide encouraging the non-Sikh youth of today to become more aware of their multicultural society in which they live. The Leeds based organisation have dedicated their time to the Panth by visiting schools in order to educate students and teachers on Sikhi. The service they provide is something which can be deemed as vital for the progession of Sikhi within today's society. Many non-Sikh youth unintentionaly mistake the Sikh identity for that of Muslims and in particular members of terrorist organisations. To the contrary we all know Sikhs are peace-loving and law abiding citizens, however the outer appearance is unfortunatly similar to that of Muslims and this is a subject that needs to be tackled.

Not only are the non-Sikh youth misguided but too are the media, it is for these reasons that the Sikh Educational Advisory Services applies themselves to building cultural awareness for a better society...

For more info visit: www.RoopSingh.com

if this was to happen in the uk...

The discussion at the moment is to tax our roads in order to cut congestion. The point is, Slyvester Stallone does it again! The sixth Rocky film to be made was watched by myself today and I can safely say it isn't the best, however, it certainly isn't the worst.

I've been a Rocky fan since I can remember, watching the trials and tribulations of the uneducated, logger-headed boxer work his way through the difficult tests that were put before him. This film was slightly different. Rocky had obviously retired, Adrian had passed away, Paulie was still doing his thing while young Robert (Rocky's son) was a young man, in search of a career within what I can only assume being the stock market (didn't go into great detail). Since his retirement and the demise of his wife, Rocky decided to open an Italian restaurant, named after his beloved. The film slowly progresses and I mean SLOWLY until we see a new kid on the block - Mason Dixon, who is the undisputed heavyweight champ but has not really had any serious contenders. The film drags on a little and we see Rocky mope about wondering where Adrian has gone until he finally gets offered an exhibition match with the champ. Being one to never back down from a challenge, Rocky 'reluctantly' accepts the challenge and they set to training. Now this is the part of the film we enjoy, seeing if at his age, Rocky and Slyvester can really do it. We see him go through similar training regimes that he endured in the previous films and although his stomachs a little flabby he can still lift some weight!

In the end the Rocky loses the fight by split decision but the fight is one which is worth watching, Rocky wasn't really fazed by the loss, it was more of a way to close a chapter that was beginning to drag on just a bit too long. Nevertheless, it's a good film and I'll probably get it on DVD. That ends another chapter in the legend that is Rocky Balboa...

Apologies if I spoiled the plot for anyone - But ohh well!

final phatehi to three amazing gursikhs...

On Sunday we gave our farwell Phatehi to an amazing Gursikh, Bhai Sahib Gurdial Singh Jee, affectionately known as Maadho Jee. Maadho jee, Manjeet Singh and Baldev Singh all returned to Panjaab after completing their Beant Sevaa of Saahib Sree Guroo Granth Saahib Jee. 6months ago the Trio of Gursikhs embarked on a Sevaa that would be recognised throughout the UK, the repairing of Guroo Saahibs Angs. I really don't know where to start with these three Mahaan Gursikhs...

Maadho Jee, an absoloute inspiration! They remind us so much of Baba jee, their jeevan is amazing, the amount of naam, baanee, sevaa and simran that they do is unbelievable and to top it off they know Sant's in Charrdeekalaa! Humility oozes from their nature and mannerisms as they sleep little, eat little and speak little; however, when words are spoken they are words of truth. They speak of nothing other than Akaal Purakh, Satguroo jee and the Mahapurakhs that have graced this World.

Manjeet Singh, another pooran Gursikh! Although, I spent the least time with Manjeet Singh, whenever I see them a smile comes to my face. Something about them reminds me of Santjee... tall, long arms, great posture, a look of determination and an amazing dastaar.

Baldev Singh, what can I say about a true brother. We go back a few years when I stayed at Mehtay the first time... I didnt even know they were in the UK until I was at Guru Tegh Bahadur Gurdwara helping with their friday night programs and Baldev Singh asked Pindi if I was who he thought I was. Pindi confirmed that yes I was Jaskeerth Singh and after that Baldev Singh demanded to say Phatehi to me. We sat and spoke for a while and reminiced on the 'good ol' days'.

When we had to take the Singhs back to the airport there was such an emotional feeling in the atmosphere, a few of the Singhs got upset and urged Maadho Jee and the Singhs to return quickly, Maadhjo jee said whenever Maaharaaj wants them to return they will, it wont happen before, it wont happen after. As the Singhs were about to go through security we hailed 5 loud Jakaray and said our final Phatehi to three amazing Gursikhs...

and the cycle begins again...

As we are about to embark on a new year, with many of us keeping resolutions which are unattainable, promises which are to be broken and hope which is to be false. We also need to remember the fact that this age of Kaljug is just another year closer till the end. The falsehood is begin to show through thick and fast, those who are pakhandi shall remain in their chair of authority and those who are devotees of God shall be in an unknown location continuing the Naam Abhiyaas and Panthik Seva.

As we approach the new year, lets look back on the things that we're memorable to me.

Well, in all fairness, the first half of the year was pretty lame. Nothing special came from it and for that reason I can't even think of anything to put for the first 6 months! Howeverm, July is a different story. Why of course, in July we see the dawn of a new era - the Era of JGSK and his collaboration with Blogger land. Yep, thats right, in July of last year I set up this time wasting portal in order for people to enjoy wasting time courtesy of none other than ya boyyy... July was a pretty hectic month to say the least. What with the world cup, my blog, my birthday, my graduation and then the many programs for the 300th Anniversary of Sri Guroo Granth Saahib Ji's Sampooranta divas and 300 years of Guroo Gobind Singh Ji's Damdami Taksal.

After July August was again another hectic month with the terror plots to blow up planes within the UK, my trip to the States and the pungay we got into with the camp coordinators and their hunger for meat!

Septmember was a strange month. The Fab Three passed away in a tragic accident, the level of Sikhi within the youth (in my eyes) seemed to dwindle and became something which was beginning to become a fashion rather than a way of life.

October/November saw the 22nd Anniversary of the Delhi Pogroms, the time when the turban was hunted and the name "Singh" was struck off the list and was automatically given the status of outlaws, for no apparent reason.

December has never been the same month that it used to be. The month when it would be spent in memory of Jesus' birth has now been replaced by our very own Saviour - A True Saint Pooran Brahmgyani Sant Baba Thakur Singh Ji Khalsa and their return to Sachkhand. Two years have passed since and as each year passes by we all grow fonder of the legacy they left behind.

That was basically it for 2006, nothing really special about it, let's see if this year is any different or whether the cycle just begins again...

sant baba thakur singh ji khalsa...

kaarajkaari mukhi damdami taksal...

As I promised, here are some more thoughts and feelings regarding the Epitome of a Pooran Gursikh - Sant Baba Thakur Singh Jee Khalsa. Where do I start? Like I said in my previous post, I find it difficult to share stories about Babaji, simply because where do you start when you try to describe someone so Perfect. They were literally PERFECT. In every sense of the word.

Of course, there are going to people that disagree with my comment, that they were Perfect, but to be honest, I dont really care! Straight up, I'm gona do as Babaji did and not give a ---- about what people think/say!

The barsi is only a week away now and the preparations are well underway... I keep thinking about December 24th 2004 when I got that phone call... Whoaa.. what a day, I remember thinking that it couldnt be true and that there must be another "Baba Thakur Singh Jee" and that OUR Babaji was still here... but no... It was OUR Babaji and they really had gone.
This past week, I've been thinking about their Jeevan soo much and how they were constantly thinking about Akaal Purakh, the stories on http://www.sikhsangat.com continue to inspire me and Babaji's love never ceases to amaze me.

I knew that Babaji had soo many fans out there and that they had affected so many people, in so many ways, but when I look back at the images from last years barsi I think WOW... Babaji, if only we showed you this much pyaar when you were here! No doubt Babaji knew how much they were loved, but unlike us who get hankaari when we're shown pyaar, Babaji was beyond that.

So simple, so humble, so loving, so true!

Dhan Dhan Baba Thakur Singh Jee Kaarajkaari Mukhi Damdami Taksal...

words of truth...

The great and charasmatic, Sant Baba Thakur Singh Ji Khalsa, once again returns to the forefront of our minds at this time of the year. 24th December 2004 was the day when they returned to their home and ascended to their heavenly abode of Sachkhand. It's difficult for me to speak about the Jeevan of Babaji, just thinking about them brings tears of joy and bairaag to my mind. I do not know of any Singh, let alone Taksali who did not have pyaar for Babaji and if they didnt, then they were to hankaari themselves to allow Babaji's Jeevan affect them. Anyways... I'm not here to write about hankaari people, or people that have let Babaji's Bachan go awry. I want to give my testimonial to the Jeevan of a Pooran Brahmgyani, who touched my heart when they spoke to me and who gave me a second glance.

To be honest, my time spent with Babaji are not really suitable enough to be shared in the public domain, there are somethings that have more value when they are reserved for the correct occassion. However, there are somethings that I saw which cannot be denied discussion. The first time I saw Babaji was an amazing sight... what seemed like a frail and old man, was someone who had a look of determination, their eyes spoke words so that their lips didnt have to. An aura of Piousness with the sense of Humilty. When they recieved the Siropaa from the Gurdwara Saahib, they humbly lowered themselves and gracefully accepted the Scarf of Acknowledgement on behalf of their Jathedar - Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale.
It's hard for us mere mortals to understand the mentality of someone who as One with Akaal Purakh, the way they talk, walk, carry themselves are all beyond us. How can an 80 year old man walk with his head in his hand? How can a father and son fight over who is to be shot by Guroo Gobind Singh's Gun? How can a man have his scalp removed, but still live longer than his executor? They all happen because they are One with the Lord.
If someone truly is a Brahmgyani - a knower of God, then how can we think twice about their actions? Some people argue that only a Brahmgyani can know a Brahmgyani, although to a certain extent I agree, I also believe that Guroo Saahib will reveal a Brahmgyani to the Sangat. Guroo Saahib themselves says that the They abide within Sangat "Mil Satsangat Khoj Dasaaee Vich Sangat Har Prabh Vasai Jeeo..."

So... if Guroo Saahib says that Akaal Purakh abides within the Satsangat then that means when the sangat comes together they form Brahmgyan... which leads me to believe that they would then be able to recognise a Pooran Brahmgyani.

I've gone off on a little tangent, so I apologise for that... I'm going to leave it here for now... and as we come closer to Babaji's Barsi I will share more thoughts and feelings of the Mahapurakh who spoke words of truth...

what would you do for love...?

Mahapurakh Mahaan Shaheed Damdami Taksal de Pehlay Mukhi, Jathedar Baba Deep Singh Jee Shaheed gave their Head in the literal form on this day. What was once a regular website of mine when passing time had become nothing more than a memory... something similar to the likes of room47.com (that site was the best '84 site!)

Anyway... it came to my attention the other day that Shinda had posted the same as me... well... as you can imagine, I wasnt best pleased, I mean my own boyy biting my posts... somethings gotta be wrong there. So, naturally I confronted him regarding the issue. Well after much deliberation, it turned out that he posted it a day before me. Chalo.. How was I to know, I couldnt access his site?!

However, the issue with me being banned has now been resolved and I can now enjoy wasting my time again with the good ol' Shinda's Spot! I recommend all you time wasters out there... go check it out!

And as for the conflicting posts...we all know great minds think alike...

mad props...

I think the video speaks for itself - Enjoy... hahah

You gotta give the kid mad props for that though...

never judge a singh by his turban...

Hardeep Singh Kohli - Some may have heard of the Scottish born Sikh comedian, others may have not. Nevertheless, when I first saw him on TV I have to admit, he wasn't rated very highly on my list. The first documentary I saw him in was "In Search Of The Tartan Turban" - You can see from the title that it isn't exactly my type of progamme to watch. Chalo, I watched it and thought to myself "What on Earth is this guy doing for Sikhi?!" I thought he was doing a great deal of damage to the Panth and was portraying Sikhi in a negative light. For months I was convinced that he was doing nothing for the welfare of Sikhi in the media, until I spoke to my dad about him. My dad then shined another light upon Hardeep Singh Kohli, which made me think twice.

My dad explained, that he may not be an Amritdhari Gursikh and yes he may trim his beard, eat meat and drink; however, he also wears a big, bold and brightly coloured Dastaar which speaks for itself. Not only does he don the Turban but he doesnt shy away from his name - Hardeep. Many media representatives have the tendancy to shorten their name for others ease, and we tend to see that Hardeep becomes 'Harry' etc. Whereas Mr. Kohli has stuck with his given name - which at this stage is quite a credible thing to do.

Also, he does not profess to be religious nor does he speak about religion. He states that he is a Sikh, but not a practising Sikh - which is fair enough. There are others out there, namely Dr. Inderjeet Singh (Editor of Sikh Messenger) and Khushwant Singh (A Sikh Historian) who are creating more contradiction than the likes of Hardeep Singh.

Anyway... my parents went to the Spinning Wheel Film Festival last week and there they met Hardeep, they said he a quite and reserved guy and not as we see him on TV. They also said he was a down to earth person who was not really out to promote or demote Sikhi, but instead wanted to further his own career, however, he was not willing to remove his Dastaar in order to do so.

Hardeep Singh Kohli and My dad (Roop Singh)

At the end of the day, he seems like a decent enough guy and I've learnt that we shouldnt judge another Singh by his Turban...

You can view 'In Search of the Tartan Turban' by clicking this link. This leaves me with a sense of wondering; I wonder whether there's something big about to happen, I wonder who'll be next and I wonder if I'll be summoned to the Court of Lord.

What I noticed is that in 2004 three Gursikhs were called upon to return to their everlasting abode - Bhai Parminder Singh, Bhai Charanjeet Singh Taki and Bibi Rena Kaur. All three were amazing Gursikhs who had pyaar, shardaa and bharosaa in Guroo Saahib - a similarity to three Singhs who recently returned to their homes - Bhai Tajinder Singh, Bhai Satvir Singh and Bhai Harvinder Singh.

As I sat and looked at the pictures released, I noticed that all, especially Harvinder Singh had a shaheed look about him. This picture shows a fire in his young eyes in which he desires to remain at the Charan of Satguroo Sree Guroo Granth Saahib Jee, well bro - that's where you are now!

As emotions run and phone calls come and go to share thoughts about the accident I sit and in admiration at the bravery, love and determination of these Guroo Kae piaarae who attempted to rescue their brother. Determined that all were for one and one were for all. They showed the loyalty and spirit of true Singhs and for that reason they'll always be remembered.

Friday will see a special Keertan Darbaar at the Sedgley St Gurdwara, Wolverhampton. All are invited in praise of their beautiful jeevans and all are encouraged to attend. Check out the link for further details and remember if you die you're a busta - coz real singhs dont die... Personally, this guy is one of the funniest TV Presenters I've seen; and after studying Film & TV at Uni you can bet I've seen a lot!

Top Gear (the show Hammond co-presents) is a favourite of mine, simply because they don't care. They're ruthless, funny, straight to the point and daring - characteristics which I tend to look for! However, having said that, the original presenter - Jeremy Clarkson, sometimes annoys me - to put it politely. He has a sense of arrogance about him which shows his 'British-ness' which I don't particularly favour, whereas Hammond is down to earth and witty.

As far as I know, with regards to the actual crash is that Richard was trying to break the British land speed record of over 300mph. After a tyre popped during the attempt the jet-powered car flipped several times and landed upside down on the grass beside the track. Within 12 minutes Hammond was flown to Leeds General Infirmary where he was kept in intensive care.

It is now said that he has started to make a slow recovery and is in stable condition which has resulted in him being moved out of intensive care and to a private room. However, the likelihood of him recieving so damage to the brain seems quite paramount which could result in him leaving Top Gear. Until we find out the full extent of the damage caused to the Hamster we'll reminisce on the jokes this guy had. Emails have flooded the newsdesks with well wishes and one even said "Hamsters belong on wheels not in hospitals..."

Please note the video above is rather long (but funny) so I suggest if you're really bored then watch it, otherwise don't blame me for wasting your time!

har japae har mandar saajiaa sant bhagat gun gaavehi raam...

<img style="DISPLAY: block; The rapper was gunned down in Suge Knights' BMW on Sept 7th 1996 after attending a Mike Tyson fight - he died 6 days later at 4:03pm.

Undoubtedly, Im gona get some people thinking why on earth are you talking about Tupac's death. Well for me this guy was a revoloutionary, similar to Malcom-X and Martin Luther King. Don't get me wrong, not only did he have a revoloutionary mentality but he was also sucked in by Maya and you can't blame him, it was his sangat. All around him were thugs, guns, drugs and drink; and eventually it was these things that led him to his premature death at the age of 25.

When I was in Canada last year myself and Gurmukh Bhai Randip Singh Bramptonwalay did some veechar on the late rapper and in particular his line "I aint a killer but don't push me..." Now if you know Pac's songs then you'll know the rest of this line goes sour, however, this line in itself is very poignant. It has a sense of Sikhi to it and makes me think of the Singhs and how they would retaliate to their Moghul tormentors.

I could imagine Baba Banda Singh Bahadur speaking similar lines, before the Chotay Sahibjaday were Shaheed, I could see him saying if you want to live then don't push me. Don't test me, coz if you do, you'll know about it. And it's for that reason why I hold some respect for Tupac, some of the things he said and spoke about relate to Sikhi in such a canny way that it brings a smile to my face, for those words of wisdom I respect. For his kaljugi ways I disregard - but no ones perfect. Hell even I aint perfect and you know I aint a killa... but dont push me... ;)

Below is a funny clip someone sent to me about Tupac - Please note it may cause offence.

Disclaimer: The statements and opinions in the above video are the thoughts of those who are filmed and not of Jaskeerth-Gyan Singh Khalsa (JGSK). Aahh yes... my return to NYC... When I arrived back in New York I was whisked to yet another camp - Camp Chardikala. I arrived at the site at 12:30am and the Singhs here were alot more receptive but the serving of eggs, bacon, sausages etc didnt make me feel entirely at home. I've noticed that the meat issue is no issue on the east coast as everyone is for it. After going hungry again we made our way to DC, to start my dads tour of parchar at Gurdwaray around DC.

Keertan/Katha at Sikh Foundation of Virginia Gurdwara

The tour was set up by the Sikh Youth Commission in a bid to improve Sikhi and Inspire the youth of America. It's a big Seva and we were hoping that Guroo Saahib took control over it, which they did. The tour went well and was well recieved by all participating Gurdwaray. We met with Dileep Kaur from BC as she was recording her album which is to be released in June '07. We all chilled out and it was good to see a familiar face and it was even better to jam! Something that I had'nt done since the Michigan Camp with Sukhjinder Singh.

On the last day of the tour we went to Guru Gobind Singh Foundation Gurdwara in Maryland and met Kuldave Singh (Pittsburgh walay), after taking my parents to the airport we went to chill with the Singhs at their Masi's house, we had a good time, jammed, chatted etc. It was good to get together with Sangat - throughout the entire trip I had only met a handful of Gursikhs, by this ratio we can see that Parchar is needed on the East Coast of USA and for that reason it means I could be back! After chilling with Kuldave Singh huni I made my way back to NYC to stay with Bhai Mandeep Singh - a Chardikala Gurmukh who not only remains in Chardikala but also instills a sense of Chardikala in those around him. I stayed at his house and made him some sabhji, it was rough and ready, but Guroo Saahib did Kirpa and it turned out well.

Mandeep Singh eating the Sabhji I made

On my last night in NYC Mandeep Singh took me past Ground Zero where I saw the lights which stand in place of the Twin Towers. After crossing the Brooklyn Bridge we glanced over and saw the New York Skyline which I have to admit at night, is quite a spectacular sight.

The lights at Ground Zero - taken on my phone (Sony Ericsson K800i)

Overall, I will have to say the trip in it's entirety was a learning curve that had to be experienced. There were good parts and definately some bad parts but when I look back I'm grateful for the opportunity. However, I know now, next time I'm not gona go to the States to chill, Imma stick to Brampton! Pion Pion Pion... hehe...

Well that concludes my updates from my tour to the States, apologies for boring you, but let's face it someone had to - else why would you be looking at blogs?! Keep it real and be safe! PEACE!

9/11 5 years on - my thoughts and views...

Firstly apologies, before I continue with my USA Tour update I can't let today pass without adding my thoughts. As I'm sure you're all aware today is the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the Twin Towers of New York. (You can now view the USA Tour update below this post)

To be perfectly honest, I have'nt really studied all that much into the attacks, I do have an interest but unfortunatly have'nt found the time to sit down and delve deep into the minds of Bin Laden and George Bush. All I know is of what people have told me, so I apologise if it's third-hand information and not quite an accurate account.

Even though my facts may not be accurate, you cannot deny the fact that to launch a plane into a building in the name of 'Peace' is not only heart-wrenchingly disturbing but is also a contradiction at it's highest to say the least. We all know there has been friction between the USA Administration and the Afghanistan based Al-Qaeda, however, does this allow for terrorists to act in a manner that puts the lives of others at risk?

As you'll find out later in my update of my trip to the States, we were at the camp in Michigan and one of the talks by my dad, Roop Singh, was about 'Shaheedi'. He asked the campers, what is their interpretation of the word 'Martyr' - who is a martyr and how do you become a martyr? Someone mentioned 'suicide bombers' that they could be considered as martyrs. This triggered something in my fathers mind, so he posed the following question: "What's the difference to the 9/11 suicide bombers, who could be considered martyrs and Guroo Arjan Dev Jee - the Sikhs first Martyr?"

They thought about it and came to the conclusion that whenever a Sikh, undertakes Shaheedi (Martyrdom) they do so for themselves and in doing so will not put any other life at risk. That's the true essence and values of being a martyr. That if you believe in something so strongly to die for it, then by all means, give your life - however, why take another's future into your own hands and end it prematurely?

Last night saw the first of a two-part drama re-living the events of 9/11 and tonight shows the conclusion, it seems like a fair account which not only criticises the terrorists but also holds a some blame towards the States for not dealing with the situation early.

The Twin Towers 5 years ago

The light that shines in place of the Twin Towers

Until both the Bush Administration and the Al-Qaeda Terrorists learn to kill their egos rather than innocent lives, only then can we begin to understand world peace. Let's spread the protection in the world by listening to or reciting Sree Chaupaaee Saahib...

USA Tour '06 Revealed Part 2...

So... the next morning (Sunday 20th August) we went to the local Gurdwara, the sangat were'nt all that receptive, infact when I come to think of it they were a little stand-off ish - maybe they had never seen a Singh in Chola before?! Chalo, the day passed and it soon became night and thats when the jokes occured. I met some good peeps, Inderraj, Savraj and Sukhjinder Singh. We stayed up played Xbox, watched 'White Noise' and played a few pranks. Click here to watch 'Savraj Sleeping' (apologies for picture quality, but I'm sure you get the jist of it) Anyways... The following morning we were expected to arrive at the camp site for 8:30am - the actual time of arrival: 12pm, Indian timing as usual!

It became pretty apparent that this camp was going to be run like Sukhjinder and myself are used to. Sukhjinder lives in BC and came from the Jot Parkash Camp in Toronto and I'm used to camps such as Sikhi Camp. So when we saw that eggs were being served for breakfast we knew we had a tough week ahead of us.

Without trying to sound Hankari, it's fair to say Sukhjinder and me did most of the Seva in the Darbar Sahib. We took care of the Degh and ensured full maryada was carried out. We started Simran/Keertan as well as our duties of filming (me) and Gatka (Sukhjinder). The idea of 'Gurmat' at this camp was a little relaxed from what we're used to, this showed when a group of boys approached us for more info on Sikhi in general, rather than facts and figures.

After the Camp Fire storytelling session by my dad, they (the group of boys) decided to come to the Darbar Sahib (where we slept) for an informal discussion/question & answer session. What should have been a 15 minute discussion, lasted over an hour. Unfortunately, the powerful and emotional discussion came to an abrupt end when sevadars entered the Darbar Sahib in a rather aggressive manner. (At this point I was contemplating naming names, but there's no point.)

After this quite shocking display , we knew our time at this camp would soon come to an end. We decided to continue to seva and not hold any grudges. The next morning during the Divan we got Punkd by the same sevadars! I quite clearly remember them saying "These Deraywalay Singhs should go to Akaal Takhat for Pesh, they're not Amritdhari and follow their own Rehat and not the Maryada of Akaal Takhat!" Hilarious don't you think?! We smiled and thought nothing of it, we carried on with the filming and the teaching of Gatka and during the evening Divan asked for Maaphi from the Sangat if we had misled them in anyway. We did the Shabad "Ham Avgun Bharrae..." the sangat were quite shocked as they expected us to Punk the Sevadars back, tensions grew higher at this point and it came to the stage that we had to leave early. With the help of Prabhjit Singh DC Walay, we got to Chicago where Bhai Baljinder Singh took us into his house and gave us Dal Parshada. The following morning Baljinder Singh and Sukhjinder Singh went to Toronto and I flew back to NYC.

OK, Im gona leave part 2 there for now... and complete the rest either later today or tomorrow, whichever comes first... So dont forget to stay tuned to Channel JGSK and his amazing adventures...

Please note: Again this account has been condensed in order for me to get to the point and for your own personal gain - I know you're prolly gona get bored otherwise!

Ya Boy's Back - USA '06 Tour Revealed...

Ok first things first, I know its been a long time since I updated this thing - so apologies for that, especially my boy Shinda, who kept telling me to update. Well Shinda Sion - This ones for you! Hahah...

The format for the entire low down is gona be somewhat staggered, it's my first day back and I'm tired so its gona have to be stage by stage. Starting with my arrival to the Land of Hope and Glory.

So check it, at first I was excited at the chance of going to America alone for a few days before my parents arrived - I like to be independant and embark on adventures. All seemed well, the flight was good, they showed some whack film but what do you expect - I was in Charrdeekalaa and Shastardhari so all was good. I was picked up from the airport by Kuldip Singh of United Sikhs, we drove to my base - the United Sikhs office in Manhattan, NY. Now the office aint brilliant, it's no luxury apartment, it's rough and ready but I thought chalo, it aint costing me anything so sall good. Now most people know I try to follow a certain level of Bibek, prior to my arrival we mentioned this to Kuldip Singh but for whatever reason he insisted that we went out to eat. I explained the situation and told him that I'll sort something out. Anyways... I met Mandeep Singh - a Charrdeekalaa Gurmukh whom I will talk about later.

I stayed at the office for 2 days before we (Kuldip Singh, Chanan Kaur - a white Sikh convert and me) made our way to Michigan for the United Sikhs camp. Being the person I am and not eating from out I struggled my way through for the first 3-4 days with little food and little sleep - a combination that for those who know me, would dread to experience. I get very 'ratty' when I'm tired and hungry, so it was a test for me to say the least! Nevertheless, I gritted my teeth and plodded along. We arrived at Gurdev Singh's house in Michigan after a long 14hour car ride, inwhich I had only consumed 1 bottle of Sprite. So as you can imagine, I was damn well hungry! We chilled out, finally we ate and then I schooled everyone on the Xbox!

Ok, Im gona leave it there for tonight and continue the rest later. So check back for the next episode of JGSK's USA Tour REVEALED!!!

Please Note: The above account has been condensed inorder for me to get to the point!

United we stand...

As I'm preparing for my trip to the States, the news of the plot to bomb a series of planes hits home. I was quite shocked to say the least and found out that they were actually planning on targetting the planes on Wednesday 16th August - the exact date I'm flying out.

Now, I'm not really scared as such, but my main concern is the airport attendants noticing my Kirpaan. For 5 years, with Guroo Saahibs grace, I havent had to remove my Kirpaan when travelling, so for it to be a possibility now is something which to me is quite daunting. To others, they may think nothing of it, remove their kakaar and collect it upon their arrival of their destination. For me, its much more than that; something I'm going to have difficulities coming to terms with.

Anyways, thats my problem... the current situation as far as I'm aware with the terror plots is that 23 Muslims have been detained and that there are possible links between the 7/7 attacks and the plots to blow up several transatlantic jets. Those who have been detained are suspected to be involved in an attempt to blow up the airliners travelling to the US - their method of destruction would be via liquid explosives hidden in hand luggage. Airport security has been stepped up in both countries, with stringent luggage searches and restrictions on the carrying of liquids on board.

It's good that the airports have stepped up security but what am I gona do on a plane for 8 hours without my laptop or my PSP?! And as for eating the food they give you... I dont think so! So Imma be tired, bored AND hungry!! I feel sorry for the dude who's sitting next to me, coz I aint gona be in a friendly mood!

It's a shame that the Muslims think they can rule the world and dictate what goes on. Not only are they putting innocent civilians lives at risk but they're also making by-standers look thrice at Singhs, which in effect gives us a bad light. So I'm now contemplating getting a T-Shirt printed for when I fly out with the words "I AM NOT A MUSLIM" emblazoned on it! Chaloo... we gotta stand United.

koorr nikhutae naanakaa ourakh sach rahee...

300 years ago for 9 months and 9 days, on the full moon of Katak, Samat 1762, until 1763 Bikrami 23 Savan. Saahib Sree Guroo Gobind Singh Jee did the Seva of Sree Guroo Granth Saahib Jee along with Bhai Mani Singh Jee and Baba Deep Singh Jee and taught Gurbani Santhiyaa to the 48 Singhs that were with Maharaj. I'm not going to delve deep into the history of Taksal, because let's face it, www.damdamitaksal.com says it all. However, I do want to express my respect for the Jathedars of Taksal that have inspired me to learn Santhiyaa and try to follow in their footsteps. Lets start with Baba Deep Singh Jee - one of my all time greatest Sikh Hero's. Regardless of the stories where people say Baba Jee's sees wasnt cut completely and that they were holding their neck as oppose to their Head. Who cares! To be at such an age and to have the courage, the strength and the faith to do what they did was amazing. At approximately 80 years old, to fight with a Khanda that takes more than 2 men to lift and to fight against some of the most ruthless and fierce moghuls is commendable and no one can take that away from them. To me Baba Deep Singh Jee will always go down in history as the only one to fight with their Head on their hand. Jesus may have fed 5000 with limited resources, Moses may have parted the Red Sea and their are countless other stories and tales but none as great as the story of the Mahaan Shaheed, Pooran Brahmgyani Mahapurakh Baba Deep Singh Jee.

After Baba Deep Singh Jee Shaheed I look at the next Jathedar of Taksal that makes me bow my head in reverence. Yet another great leader of the Panth, a rare Jewel, Sant Baba Gurbachan Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale.

Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee to me is the epitome of a Gursikh, their love for Guroo Saahib and Gursikhi was amazing and still to this day when I read or hear stories from their Jeevan it gives me a great boost and brings a smile to my face. Becoming a paathee Singh at the tender age of 7 and having the knowledge of the Ramayan, Mahabharat, Yoga Vishest and other Vedic Granths, and being able to understand on the teachings of these at the age of 13 is remarkable. Sant Jee also read the Phareedkot Teeka of Sree Guroo Granth Saahib Jee, the Phareedkot Teeka are known to be the hardest Teeka to understand and grasp. Sant Jee did this at 13 years of age!

After 40 years of Seva Sant Jee went to the small villiage of Mehta, in Amritsar. After staying there for sometime, the time came for Sant Jee to ascend to Sachkhand and leave this world of Maya behind. With Waahiguroo Mantar on their lips they left this Manukee Jeev and joined with the One Creator. People and 'historians' claim that after Sant Jee left this earth the rightful successor should be Baba Mohan Singh who was at the time situated at Bhinder Kalaan, without taking anything away from Baba Mohan Singh he was not the true Jathedar and was not put in place by Sant Baba Gurbachan Singh Jee; instead the rightful and correct Jathedar came to be after Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee announced on stage that Sant Baba Kartar Singh Jee will continue with the Seva of Damdami Taksal in the future. The audio from this speech can be heard here.

This takes me on to the third Mukhi of Damdami Taksal who gives me such inspiration - Sant Baba Kartar Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale. Sant Kartar Singh Jee out of humility, left Bhinder Kalaan and moved the Jatha to Mehta where Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee acsended to Sachkhand. There Sant Jee built Gurdwara Gurdarshan Parkash in memory of Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee. Over the 8 years that Sant Jee was Mukhi they did immense Seva with so much nimrata, yet with so much confidence and fervour. They openly stood up for the Respect of Sree Guroo Granth Saahib jee and conducted many processions and demonstrations against the Nakli Nirankari's and the likes of Indira Gandhi. The fact that people can discredit Sant Jee for not being the authentic successor of Sant Gurbachan Singh jee leaves me baffled. Credit should be given where it is due, and Sant Jee was an amazing Gursikh and was given the gift of Braham Gyan by Sant Baba Gurbachan Singh Jee. On 16th August 1977 Sant Kartaar Singh Jee was a victim in a serious car crash which left them critical. They were rushed to hospital but refused the surgeons to remove their Kes during the operation. Sant Jee then decided it was time for them to say their final Phatehi to the Jatha and thus left for Sachkhand.

Sant Baba Thakur Singh Jee was given the leadership and duty of choosing the next Mukhi and promptly named Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Jee as the new Jathedar, after hearing Sant Kartar Singh jee speak highly of them. The Jatha was under the impression that Bhai Amrik Singh Ji, son of Sant Kartar Singh Jee was to become the 14th Jathedar and all 3 Mahapurakhs were on stage passing the Dastar from one to another. The emotional occasion concluded when Baba Jee gave hukam for Sant Jarnail Singh Jee to become the Jathedar, an emotional and humble Sant Jee gracefully accepted the Bachan from Baba Jee and stated they are unworthy however, a Bachan from a Mahapurakh is like a Bachan from Akaal Purakh! With this said, Sant Jee allowed the Jatha to perform the Ardaas and tie the Dastar and hand them the Teer.

The Sikh Nation is well educated with the ongoings of Sant Jee's great Seva to the Panth during the turbulent times of the late '70s and and '80s. We know how Sant Jee was the fearless Son of Sree Guroo Gobind Singh Jee who fought politically and physically. This is all common knowledge, but what really inspires me about the current Jathedar is their humility and commitment to Seva. Despite being such a public figure and a charasmatic leader, Sant Jee would sneak out of their room and begin to do Jorriaa Dee Seva. On one occassion after a Divaan Sant Jee went into the Langar Hall and hid some dishes, when everyone had gone to bed Sant Jee got up, did their Ishnaan and quietly washed the dishes whilst reciting Bani. Could you see the likes of Dhumma doing such Seva? The controversy between Sant Jee's Shaheedi is on-going and will not end until the day comes. It's pointless arguing, one must simple have Faith that a Pooran Brahmgyani gave a Bachan and like Sant Jee said; "A Bachan from a Mahapurakh, is like a Bachan from Akaal Purakh!".

Now that brings me nicely to the only Mukhi who was a Karajkari Mukhi (Acting Jathedar) Sant Baba Thakur Singh Jee Khalsa. For over 20 years Sant Baba Thakur Singh Jee, affectionately referred to as 'Baba Jee', led Damdami Taksal and did an immense Seva. Humility, Honesty, Calmness and Discipline were just a few of the traits that oozed from Baba Jees character.

Forever under the influence of Naam and Bani, Baba Jee would constantly be either reciting or listening to the words of Akaal. In 1983 Sant Jarnail Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale gave a Bachan to the Sikh Sangat that if at any stage of the Dharam Yudh Morcha they were not to be present then we must all listen to and follow to words of Baba Thakur Singh Jee. It is disappointing to know that some people for their own personal gain have decided, now that Baba Jee is no longer on this Earth they can ignore the Bachan that was given.

One story that comes to mind when thinking of the great Seva Baba Jee did was one when Sant Jarnail Singh Jee had newly become the Jathedar. It was in the early hours of the morning, and from their room Sant Jee could hear a noise coming from outside. Curious as to what it was they went outside and saw someone rush inside the Jorray Ghar (Shoe house). Sant Jee went to the Jorray Ghar and saw Baba Jee doing Jorria Di Seva alone, in the dark. Sant Jee was shocked and when enquired as to what Baba Jee was doing Baba Jee said "Either join in or go back to sleep, just don't talk!"

Sant Jee began to apply the dust of the Sangat's shoes to Their forehead, along with Sant Baba Thakur Singh Jee.

May the memory of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Jee, Sant Baba Gurbachan Singh jee Khalsa Bhindranwale, Sant Baba Kartar Singh jee Khalsa Bhindranwale and Sant Baba Thakur Singh Jee Khalsa stay with us forever; and may the great leader of the 20th Century - Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale remain in Charrdeekalaa until the time comes for them to return.

For those of you who get disheartened when people begin to say stuff about Sant Jee and Baba Jee, don't worry coz Koorr Nikhutae Naanakaa Ourakh Sach Rahee - Falsehood will come to an end, O Nanak, and Truth will prevail thereafter...

gharreeai sabadu sachee taksaal...

Yesterday students and affiliates of Damdami Taksal International (UK) celebrated the 300th anniversary of the Sikh institution for the correct pronunciation of Gurbani. We all know that Taksal was created by Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji as a school and since 1706, when Guru Sahib gave Jathedari to Baba Deep Singh Ji and Bhai Mani Singh Ji, the line of Jathedars has been unbroken.

Many people speak of the conflicts between 'self proclaimed' Jathedars, namely when Sant Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale became Jathedar and the recent on-goings with the likes of Ram Singh and Dhumma. We are aware that the controversy is still existent and Dhumma isnt helping the situation as he's digging a deeper hole for himself, especially after the recent book palaver.

The Akhand Paath Bhog went well with Maharaj's blessings and although the Pardhan of the Gurdwara, (Bhai Kuldeep Singh Chaheru b/o Shaheed Bhai Manvir Singh Chaheru) believes Sant Ji's shaheed, he did the right thing and allowed Bhai Balbir Singh to do Katha on the lineage of Taksal ending at Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa and mentioning that Sant Baba Thakur Singh Ji was acting Jathedar in the absence of Santji.

Ragi Bhai Harpal Singh along with Ragi Bhai Gursharan Singh doing Keertan

This was the first programme of a few for the Charrdeekalaa of Damdami Taksal, when the Singhs return from Panjab we will be holding more divaans and Akhand Paaths for the Charrdeekalaa of the school started by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the current Jathedar, veehvee sadee de mahaan Sant Sipahi Mahapurakh Pooran Braham Giani Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale... The box baffled me and I was curious as to see what was inside. She placed it infront of me and I opened it. To my surprise I saw something, that as I a young child, I had wanted for years... My very own TORTOISE!!!! Yup thats right, she bought me a baby tortoise. It's crazy to think that I'll be able to look after a living creature, heck, I can barely look after myself!!

The next day we did Ardaas and took Hukam for it's name. The Hukam that came was "Preet Preet Gureeaa Mohan Laalnaa..." The shabad by Sri Guroo Arjan Dev Ji is amazing, read the translation and see for yourself.

Later on in the day came my graduation ceremony...It went well with Guroo Saahibs Kirpa, I wasnt the only Singh there, but I was the only Singh in Chola and a 3ft Kirpaan ;)

On Sunday I saw my birthday, which was also a good day, a quiet affair just family etc... nothings really changed, I havent matured up or anything so sallllll goooooooooood... ;)

And then on Monday came the start of the Sikh Inspiration Camp at my local Gurdwara, again more fun! Most people are aware that the UK isn't in the top 10 destinations for good weather; the constant rain and grey sky's are what the population of Britain are used to. However, the past few weeks has a dramatic change in climate for the UK with temperatures reaching 35C is areas.

I know most people from America and Canada and parts of Europe are used to this kinda heat, but lets face it - us Englandies cant cope with it... The record hottest day in July was back in 1911, when temperatures reached 36C. It's expected that this week will see the record high and that London, Birmingham and Bristol will recieve most of the damage!

So as far as England goes... the heat is on!

And this picture of a melting road surface at Tadcaster in Yorkshire... as rising temperatures topped 30C (86F) across much of the country. (From BBC Website)

may allah be with you...

I came in contact with a practising Muslim boy today, he was only about 13years old, yet had such an understanding of his faith that it shocked me. We started talking about religion and he asked me if I believed in Allah. I said yes, and explained that Sikhi teaches that Allah, Waahiguroo, Jehova, Raam etc are all different names for One True God. He laughed, he said how can there be just one God for everyone. There isn't a God for Kafir's (non-believers).

I explained Guroo Nanak Dev Ji's message of IK OANKAAR (there being only One God). He claimed Guroo Nanak was a Muslim saint having travelled to Mecca, this is when I began to laugh. I said if Guroo Nanak was a Muslim then why did they say "There is no Hindu, Nor a Muslim."

We sat and chatted about Religion, the similarities and the differences and as we parted he said to me "May Allah be with you..." and responded and said "Waahiguroo Jee Kaa Khaalsaa! Waahiguroo Jee Kee Phatehi!"

I came home, checked my emails and ironically recieved one regarding Islam.

Check out the images below - the last few are quite gruesome, so those who are faint-hearted beware!

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; I personally think he's still one of the best strikers on the planet. (For all you people that haven't got a clue, we're talking football/soccer!)After all the hype of the World Cup has died down and ended, I thought, let's look at Ronaldo and see if he really is just a goofy, overweight, lazy Brazilian who has no passion for the game any more.

Well, by his performances early on in the tournament he showed a lack of enthusiasm to say the least, however, as the games progressed and the knock out stages arrived he began to perform; scoring his 15th goal of his World Cup career - a new all-time record.

I did some research on the big-toothed Brazilian and found some video clips of him 'back in the day'. Now if he can focus his mind and perform like he used to, I think he could possibly squeeze in another World Cup... Who know's? Maybe he could even Captain Brazil to their sixth World Cup win? He will have some stiff competition in four years though, Robinho will be at his peak and Adriano will no doubt be full of confidence.

Enough said, check out this vid...
